Sderot NCSY
Greetings from Israel.
I have spent the past few days lecturing at various Yeshivot across Israel and seeing firsthand the amazing job OU Israel is doing throughout the country. OU Israel is led by Rabbi Avi Berman, who is truly an incredible powerhouse. Rabbi Berman took me to meet with a group of NCSY’ers in the town of Sderot. The group told me that they were afraid to walk the streets because any moment a siren could go off, signaling that a missile was shot at them from Gaza.
The group explained that if it wasn’t for NCSY, they did not know what they would do. One girl told me that the only time she leaves her house is to go to NCSY. In Sderot, the NCSY chapter meets in a bomb shelter so that participants can feel safe. We must double and triple our tefilot for Hashem to be the ultimate Mogen David (Shield of David) for the people of Sderot.
