Kharkov Teens
I spent the last 20 hours on the way to Kharkov, Ukraine. I arrived exhausted and spent. I was all ready to pass out when Rabbi Berman insisted that we not waste any time and go straight to the OU Center. I shlepped along yawning and kvetching. Then, when we reached the OU center I met the most inspiring, dedicated teens.
Teens who left their homes to dorm in the OU yeshiva in Kharkov. Teens who received a bris as young adults. Teens who in a short time have become fluent in Hebrew.
I suddenly forgot my fatigue and could only think of one thing..... Am Yisroel Chai.
Passover should prove to such as these this year a Journey to remember! Wow. What a ride.
