To the NCSY Advisors
I would like to dedicate this week’s blog entry to the hundreds of remarkable young men and women who dedicate their time, wisdom, and compassion to thousands of Jewish teens across this nation. Of course, I am referring to NCSY’s unbelievable army of advisors who number more than 900 and are on the forefront of our formidable mission to reach out and connect teens to Judaism.

The Impact of NCSY
Dear Rabbi Burg,
So thank you for introducing me to the person I never knew existed, the person I never knew I could be, for showing me the beauty of Torah and Shabbos, for the fact that I know all the Lev Tahor songs by heart and for my Judaism, which is as much a part of my life as breathing. Please keep doing what you are doing, because there are more people like me, who will never see how amazing Judaism can be unless NCSY opens their eyes.

September 11th
As a Jew of faith I believe from the bottom of my heart that one day G-d will make the decision that my work down here will be over and I will break the earthly bounds and rejoin Him in Heaven. The question that has plagued me all through this week is, what will I be doing at that time? Will I have the merit like all those brave police officers and firefighters to be selflessly rushing to the aid of my fellow earthly companions?

Strength in Numbers
There are roughly 5.1 million Jews in America. About 10% of those Jews identify with being Orthodox. That means there are 510,000 Orthodox Jews in America today. What would it take to double our number to 1 million Orthodox Jews? Can you imagine the impact we could have if Teaneck or Woodmere was double the size?
