my view is that its an amazing thing that they are doing since they are reaching out to jewish communities that have/ know little or nothing about their jewish heritage. they are all over the world so also if ur stuck in a country that u dont know a rabbi or a shul or… over Shabbat/Yom Tov you can usually find a lubavitch around the area if there are jews. they are reaching out to jews all over the world and that is comendable in my eyes.
thats tru… they do alot of good things that bring ppl who arent close to their Judaism closer if they choose… or at least give them that opportunity. its an amazing thing and if we all reached out to our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world, or the same, our world would be a nicer place.
Chabad does “incredible things seen around the world”. They provide an opportunity for Jews to connect to Judaism.
However, the mashichists are unnerving and wrong.
Not all chabadniks believe that the Rebbe is Moshiach. that was started by 2 ppl who were paid of to start the rumor. there are even some chabad shuls where if you believe the Rebbe is Moshiach, they wont allow you in.
Not all Lubavitchers believe that the Rebbe is still physically alive, but most do believe he is moshiach. Rambam states that Moshiach can come from the dead, as techiat ha’metim will take place. The messianic era also will occur in stages. As the Lubavitcher Rebbe states, “Moshiach is Here, Just Open your eyes.” If you think about it the world is naturally going toward Moshiach. Just think about how much goodness and kindness takes place in this world nowadays. Also, if each century is considered a day in the week, we are in Friday afternoon when things get a little crazy. We’re almost there......
<< Rambam states that Moshiach can come from the dead >>
No, he doesn’t. The Rambam in Hilchos Melachim (11:5) states quite clearly that if someone who is presumed to be the Moshiach dies, we know that he wasn’t Moshiach.
Furthermore, techiyas hameisim (revival of the dead) is an incident COMPLETELY SEPARATE from the coming of Moshiach, as well as SUBSEQUENT to it. How could Moshiach be revived from the dead if the revival of the dead doesn’t occur until AFTER the Moshiach has done his work?
Mashichists like people to believe that they are in the majority, just like the elokistim like people to believe that, and just like the Christians like us to think that they must be right since they have so many followers, and Muslim imams cant get enough of telling potential converts that their religion is becoming the largest religion in the world. And likewise, the American Nazi party continually bolsters their claims by announcing their booming membership and out show of support at rallys. They are all wrong. The purpose of the 2 guys being paid off was that some smart Christian decided, if he could get alot of Jews believing that Moshiach could come back from the dead, it would be easier to convert Jews to Christianity, after all, if the Rebbe z’tzl can do it, why cant yeshk’e?
