The Answer to How Can I Do it All?

As Alumni director I want to service all those who attended any NCSY events ever. That’s over 200,00 people ranging in age from 18 to 120 including family status from single to great grandparent and both! For two years I concentrated on programs that served the widest range of alumni at one time like this newsletter and reunion Shabbatons as I developed the department politically and financially. For the last six months I’ve had the luxury to concentrate on programming. I limited my focus to those alumni who just graduated high school to try and stop the water from leaking out the bottom of our ship. Now after six months I realize I need to focus even more on gathering the information on where our 12th graders are going after they graduate and CONNECTING them to existing great Jewish programs on campus. As my professional focus narrows, how can we continue to expand and maintain our programs for our older alumni? The answer is the OU Alumni Commission. We have had two meetings already (I’d be glad to send a transcript to anyone who requests one) and have set up to sub committees which I hope you’ll participate in. To join the Singles Committee email Dassie Fuchs at and to join the reunion committee email Doodie Miller at

  1. Hi Rabbi Dave,

Just to give u an idea of where I fit on ur continuum; I was active in NCSY’s Greater NY Action Region in the early 60’s, before I did a tour w/Uncle Sam in the US Army.

I am currently retired, married w/3 married children and 4 grandchildren.

    Shabbat Shalom
